Looking for the perfect holiday gift that’s “Made in France”? Verbreuil Paris is a maison of haute maroquinerie specialising in high-end leather. Each Verbreuil piece has been entirely hand-made by some of the country’s top leather artisans, experts in traditional leather working techniques.
As described by France Today correspondent Jennifer Ladonne, Verbreuil is helping to redefine the designer bag. Verbreuil’s founders (a mother and two daughters) spent three years travelling across France seeking out the finest artisans and the best tanners. “Utterly refined and created in the finest crocodile, calf and – for the interiors – lamb leathers, these architectural bags are as luxe as it gets without being bespoke. The only difference, really, is that you can walk in and pluck one off the shelf.”
If you’re in Paris, stop by one of two boutiques: The Rive Gauche location is at 4 rue de Fleurus in the 6th arrondissement. The Rive Droite location, newly opened last year just off of rue Saint-Honoré in the 1st arrondissement, is 18 bis rue Saint Roch.
The latter boutique is hosting a fabulous Japanese gift ceremony this holiday season, overseen by Master of Ceremony Emiko Oguri. Trained by the Chief of Protocol of the Shogun Dynasty, Oguri is a master of the ancestral art known as Origata: celebrating the art of gift-giving. Made with Danish white paper and red and white strings, the delicate packaging itself is a perfect choreography, and the resulting package is a work of art— almost too pretty to open. The Ceremony x Verbreuil will be hosted on the 16th and 23rd of December in the 18 bis rue Saint Roch boutique. Every client will have their gift wrapped in the Origata tradition and the name of the recipient written in calligraphy.
We are fans not just of the hand bags, but also the gorgeous Fleurus bracelets which exist in a large variety of colors and luminous leather (think calfskin, bi-material or all alligator). Entirely handmade, these beautiful bracelets dress up any outfit. The perfect gift for the special someone in your life. For more information, visit www.verbreuil.com
